What Can I Do?

Swearer Center programs and initiatives work to connect the capacities of different local communities in order to:

- address inequalities in our society and communities

- create, share, and apply knowledge for the public good

and

- educate and prepare students for lives of effective action.

We engage four main communities to lead, participate in, partner with, and advise these efforts:

- Students, who engage in community work, lead programs and advance their own skills and knowledge

- Faculty, who engage in community-based teaching and research

- Alumni, who often continue working in the community long after walking through the Gates

and

- Community partners whose perspective and experience guides this work
