Internship - Providence Summerbridge - Mentor Teacher
May 7 by Alan HarlamEach summer Summerbridge hires four Mentor Teachers — two Literacy and two Numeracy — to work closely with each other, the Dean of Faculty, and the program’s Directors to train and support high school and college students to become effective teachers. Being a Mentor Teacher is an incredible opportunity to work with middle school students from Providence public schools as well as high school and college students from across the city and country.
The position pays $3,000 (plus a priceless opportunity to impact the lives of young people through our “students teaching students” model). All Mentor Teachers must attend and facilitate training workshops during the five-day teacher training which runs from June 25-June 30 (including Saturday June 27). After teacher training, the position is part-time (2.5 days/week) from July 1-August 13.
