Ashoka Youth Venture -
Dream it. Do it. Challenge

Ashoka's Youth Venture is launching the Dream It. Do It. Challenge (DDC) in Providence, RI this Spring and we are looking for coaches! The DDC is a fun, collaborative workshop that meets approximately 10 times throughout the semester on Saturdays. The youth that participate will evaluate the problems/issues in their communities and come up with creative ways to implement change. The challenge will be located at the MET School in South Providence. Students from the MET Schools, as well as some other Providence public schools, will participate in team building, community mapping, and leadership activities, and hopefully form a strong bond. Launching a Youth Venture Team (Action Plan, Community Panel, 1,000 dollar seed funding) is an outcome of the DDC, but is not forced upon any of the participants.

Coaches
Brown students who are passionate about youth development, leadership, and social entrepreneurship would be ideal for helping the lead facilitators as "coaches". Coaches would need to commit to 4 hours on Saturdays (10-2) starting in mid-March and ending in the beginning of June. The timing of the Challenge is not ideal for Brown students, but if you are super motivated to impact youth in a fun, sustainable, social entrepreneurial way, then we would love to work with you.

Please contact Sarah Lester at SLester@youthventure.org or TJ Tetzlaff at tjtetzlaff@metmail.org if you are interested or have more questions! We are looking to run the program in the future as well, so let us know if this is a project you would look into after this semester.
