Safar Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship The Safar Social Entrepreneurship Internship provides a $3,000 award to one student who chooses to spend the summer working as an intern with a humanitarian organization or project grounded in the entrepreneurial principles of innovation, impact and sustainability. Bootcamp: Measuring Impact | April 1st This is a hands-on workshop that introduces frameworks and approaches to program evaluation. $50,000 Business Plan Competition | April 10th Brown's Entrepreneurship Program and the Social Innovation Initiative have partnered to host a $50,000 business plan competition. Cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded to the top three overall winners and top three not-for-profit plans. Clinton Global Initiative University Commitment Awards President Clinton announced at the CGI U meeting on February 14th that a total of $400,000 will be distributed to various student and student-group commitments. Awards focus across five areas: Energy & Climate Change, Poverty Alleviation, Global Health, Peace & Human Rights, and Education.
Peter Thiel Student Fellowship Program Peter Thiel, the famous entrepreneur and investor behind companies including Paypal, Facebook and Clarium Capital, is the main advisor to the Social Profit Foundation. Ashoka Youth Venture - Dream it. Do it. Challenge Ashoka's Youth Venture is launching the Dream It. Do It. Challenge (DDC) in Providence, RI this Spring and is looking for Brown student-coaches! The DDC is a fun, collaborative workshop that meets approximately 10 times throughout the semester on Saturdays. The youth that participate will evaluate the problems/issues in their communities and come up with creative ways to implement change.
